When Thick Mucus Is Difficult to Remove
Is your baby’s mucus too thick and difficult to suction? 🤧🤦
Does your little one have this problem? 🤱🤱
Try the following three methods! 😊😊
_
📍 Steam Method
Before suctioning, you can use a humidifier or create steam in the bathroom by running hot water.
The moisture may help soften thick, sticky mucus and make it easier to remove.
_
📍 Warm Compress Method
Before suctioning, gently place a warm towel over the nose area. The warmth may help promote circulation around the nasal passages and ease nasal congestion.
For both methods above, always keep your baby at a safe distance from hot water and steam to prevent burns.
_
📍 Elevate the Upper Body
Keep the head slightly elevated together with the entire upper body—not just the head.
Do not use an overly soft mattress or pillow, as your baby could sink into it and experience an obstructed airway or suffocation hazard.

“CHIBOJI allows you to adjust the suction strength!”
Pull the handle all the way out for maximum suction.
Pulling it out halfway or one-third of the way will produce different suction levels.
We recommend testing the suction strength on the back of your hand first,
as every baby responds differently.
Some babies have more sensitive nasal passages,
while babies with allergies may require stronger suction.
❗️Last reminder for all moms❗️
Removing mucus with a nasal aspirator is similar to blowing your nose:
1. If the nasal passage is already injured, or
2. If the nose is completely blocked due to congestion,
forcing mucus out by blowing or suctioning
may irritate the nasal passage and cause a nosebleed. 😱
👩🏻💼 Our recommendations:
If the nasal passage is already injured: Do not use the nasal aspirator, or use a lower suction setting.
If the nose is blocked: First soften the mucus with moisture, such as by using a humidifier or washing the face with warm water.
